Dr. Jes Dwyer, LAc, earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health & Science. Prior to that, she earned her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at East West College of Natural Medicine.

She also completed an internship in China under Dr. Ling Guan at 301 Hospital in Beijing. In addition, Dr. Jes also trained with Dr. Shan Liang in Florida for 2.5 years.

She is nationally board certified with NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine) as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine. In short, this means that she has passed boards in Acupuncture, Chinese Medical Theory, Bio-medicine, and Chinese Herbology!

Dr. Jes is a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in the state of TN. Additionally, she has training for
AcuPoint Injection Therapy (APIT), for which she is certified in FL.


Specialty Training

Her studies included an emphasis on the integration of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Modern Medical Practices. While earning her Master’s, she successfully completed several internships under the direction of practitioners who are experts in their specialties.

  • Encompass Health Physical Rehab Hospital with Dr. Bruce Benner Under the direction of Dr. Bruce Benner, Dr. Jes Dwyer worked with patients to integrate acupuncture with inpatient care. This helped to speed recovery for conditions including Brain Injuries, Parkinson’s, Post-stroke Symptoms, Burns, Bell’s Palsy, Joint Replacement Recovery, and other Injuries.
  • Ideal Balance with Dr. Brian Lau, AP, DOM, C. SMA As one of the primary instructors with the Sports Medicine Acupuncture Program, Dr. Lau’s clinic specializes in sports medicine injuries, orthopedic disorders, and chronic pain. Dr. Jes Dwyer gained valuable insight into the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Acupuncture & Herbal Therapies with Dr. Bob Linde Under the direction of Dr. Linde, Dr. Jes Dwyer worked with patients to create customized formulas for a wide range of conditions and symptoms. The incorporation of herbal therapies (both TCM Herbs and Western Herbalism) proved to have a dramatic impact on the speed & level of recovery.

As a dedicated student, Dr. Jes graduated Summa Cum Laude in both her Masters and her Doctorate programs.

Dr. Jes also worked directly under the mentorship of Dr. Shan Liang, one of the premiere Acupuncture Physicians in Florida, for over 2.5 years.

While with Dr. Liang, Dr. Jes gained experience working with all manner of conditions including Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Post Stroke Recovery, Bell’s Palsy, Allergic Reactions, Headaches/Migraines, Injuries, Digestive Disorders, Diabetic Management, Peripheral Neuropathy, and many more.

While no longer within the same practice, Dr. Liang is still an active mentor to Dr. Jes, and serves as an invaluable resource.

Dr. Jes was fortunate to have the opportunity to work as an intern in the #1 ranked Military Hospital in China, under the direction of the Director of Acupuncture, Dr. Ling Guan, founder of Structural Based Medical Acupuncture (SBMA). She was also able to work with other doctors in the hospital in both the in-patient & out-patient departments.

At 301, Dr. Jes worked with patients suffering from musculoskeletal pain, post-stroke paralysis, facial paralysis, surgical nerve injury, sudden deafness, tinnitus, sports injury, headaches, constipation, infertility, and menopause accordingly. Along with an increase in understanding & treatment, this experience further increased the practice of integrating both TCM and Modern Medical Practices.


SAAT Training & Certification

Dr. Jes is certified in SAAT (Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment) by Dr. Nader Soliman, a leader in auricular acupuncture who developed the protocol. She studied with him over the course of a year to bring SAAT to Chattanooga!

SAAT is a gentle, non-invasive technique that targets points on the ear to retrain the immune system and reduce allergy symptoms.

Using this method, Dr. Jes has helped hundreds of patients overcome Alpha-gal syndrome, fertility challenges and hormonal sensitivies, MCAS, seasonal allergies, food allergies, and more!


Present Practice

Presently in her practice, Dr. Jes Dwyer has success in treating conditions of all types utilizing a broad range of tools to craft customized therapy for her patients. She frequently employs both Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to reach the goals she and her patients set together.

Dr. Jes works consistently with Allergies, Headaches, Musculoskeletal Pain, and as well as Internal dysfunction. She has also developed a special interest in neurological disorders, including Sciatic Nerve Pain, Pinched Nerves, Peripheral Neuropathy, Parkinson’s, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Bell’s Palsy, Fibromyalgia, and more.

She also has developed experience in treating fertility and gynecological issues, helping women to both regulate their cycles and achieve pregnancy.

Dr. Jes is a proud mama here in Chattanooga. Originally from upstate NY and growing up in FL, she is a lover of the outdoors and chose “the scenic city” above all because of the unlimited access to nature-related activities, including hiking, camping, and foraging. She loves to travel and has lived in Japan, France, & China, as well as visited most of Western Europe. She is also an avid reader, a foodie, and a big fan of live music.
